Swam 1,000 yards today, the first in a long time that I’ve swum that far in a workout. It wasn’t too hard and I wasn’t too tired when I finished. I could have done more, but arms and shoulders were a little tired and my blood CO2 was fairly high. The distance was good, so I called the workout a success and called it a day.

Just curious *how* you measure your blood CO2.

I don't measure it, but by now - with as much swimming and diving as I have, combined with a little knowledge (dangerous!) of physiology - the heavy breathing/ventilation I have to do is as or more indicative of high CO2 than of low O2.

(At least that is my theory, and I'm sticking to it! ;-)
